This process can involve a variety of methods including attending high school games and tournaments, reviewing videos of athletes in action, and communicating with athletes and their coaches directly.

When does college recruiting take place?
College recruiting can take place at any time during a high school (or junior high in some cases) athlete's career, but most commonly begins during their junior year of high school. Coaches will typically start evaluating athletes and making initial contact during their junior year, and then continue to monitor their progress during their senior year.

Can I still be recruited if I don't play on a high school team?
Yes, it is possible to be recruited by college coaches even if you don't play on a high school team. However, it may be more challenging to get noticed without the exposure that comes from playing on a team. In this case, attending camps and showcases are particularly important.

What should I look for when choosing a college?
When choosing a college to play for, it's important to consider factors such as the quality of the athletic program, the academic programs offered by the college, the location and campus culture, and the financial aid and scholarship opportunities available. SA joins clients in this process to make sure there is a fit between the athlete's goals and abilities and the college's athletic and academic programs.
